The first Russian Film Days festival passed in 2015 was mentioned in a joint statement of the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the framework of the BRICS summit. After the massive success of its first edition and keeping in mind Russia’s international policy, the second edition is underway on a much larger scale.

Last year, the Indian audience very heartily received the films showcased at the festival. We hope that this year too, the audience embrace the films as enthusiastically, especially because we bring some of the most exciting movies from Russia. Together with our partners we do everything possible to create and deepen the interest of the Indian audience towards Russian cinema and to establish close ties between the film industries of both the countries.”
