Japanese writer-director Kiyoshi Kurosawa known for his horror films, has now made his first non Japanese film. Daguerrotype is a French film where Catherine Paille has adapted the original screenplay of Kiyoshi into French. Featuring Tahar Rahim, Constance Rousseau and Oliver Gourmet, the film was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year and is continuing its festival run.
Plot– When an assistant to a daguerreotype photographer falls in love with the latter’s daughter the relationship mirrors the art form as love and pain combine.
