Anchu Sundarikal: Trailer

5 SundarikalAnthology films are in vogue now & Anchu Sundarikal (5 beautiful  women) is one such forthcoming Malayalam movie. The brainchild of cinematographer turned filmmaker, Amal Neerad, Anchu Sundarikal looks at women of 5 types- mother,daughter,lover, wife and actress through 5 short films. The 5 films are directed by Amal Neerad, Aashiq Abu, Anwar Rasheed, Sameer Tahir and Shyju Khalid. Rajeev Ravi was to direct a short too but he opted out due to prior commitments, however he has taken care of the cinematography for one of the segments. The 5 DOP’s are Amal Neerad, Rajeev Ravi, Shyju Khalid, Ranadive and Alby while music has been composed by Bijibal, Gopi Sundar, Prashant Pillai and Yakzan Gary Pereira. Vivek Harshan is the editor.

The details of the 5 short films including the actors featured are as follows-

Amal Neerad’s short film Kullante Bharya has Dulquer Salman and Reenu Mathews and is apparently based on a Chinese short story.

Aashiq Abu’s short film Gowry is features Kavya Madhavan, Biju Menon, Jayasurya, Tini Tom and Rimi Tomy.

Sameer Tahir’s short film Esha features Nivin Pauly and Isha Sharvani and is a love story.

Shyju Khalid’s film Sethulakshmi revolves around 2 children, played by Anika and Chethan.

Anwar Rasheed’s segment Aami features Fahadh Faasil, Honey Rose, Asmitha Sood and is supposedly a road movie>

Anchu Sundarikal is due for release on 20th June. Here’s hoping that the film turns out well. Do check out the trailer for now.
