  1. souvik, they have different categories, and it just happens that both the categories are from the same language… though come to think of it, yes it is strange how two films can win the award, lol

  2. what heartens me is the award for I Am, a film that every mainstream award function didnt even nominate leave alone reward! it was a sensible and nicely made film. redeems faith in the industry and that real good cinema is actually appreciated in India is a welcome fact. I was so sure Zindagi na milegi dobara will win national award too!

    • somehow, I didn’t like ‘I Am’ as a film.. for me, though it had nice premise for the 4 parts, but the first 2 stories were sloppily directed…
they used to have this category of ‘wholesome entertainment’.. i thought ZNMD would win that 😦

      • Souvik- the wholesome entertainment award has gone to a far better film-‘Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai’ ( Tamil ) 🙂

  3. i think they still have, they just dint find anyone worth it i guess! i hated ZNMD it was fake, and elitist and completely artificial!! I Am on the other hand, though with flaws, was real, and had an instant connect for me! the first mainstream crowd sourced film if i am not mistaken, the award is more an encouragement i feel for the intention and thought process behind it!

ZNMD meanwhile will surely win the advertising awards, an extended Brazil tourism brochure that it was anyways 😉

  4. i wonder how has vidya balan has been judged as the best actress, i feel the performance was not upto the standard of winning a national award for performance

    • i couldnt agree more with you. i feel sorry for all the other regional film actresses who have done a far better job than vidya balan who i feel is very overrated.

  5. I personally prefer Shala over Deool. And I don’t really find Girish Kulkarni’s performance worthy of Best Actor award.

  6. I don’t know how films are evaluated here and whats the criteria….

Though i am happy for Aranya Kandam, Azhagarsamiyin Kudhira & Chillar Party…

If Vidya Balan can get a best actress, Ranbir Kapoor’s Rockstar was by far the best performance i saw in the whole of last year across all languages…. Furious …..

    • Hi Ajju we were trying to put up the link to the post which had its trailer as well & that’s why it was not visible earlier. Its been taken care of now.

  7. Shala was anytime better than ‘Deool’. I guess the socially relevant premise made it for Deool. I feel Ha Bhaarat Mazha is better than both of them and also socially relevant, may be it just wasn’t sent to the awards. Byari is a complete surprise. ‘The Wholesome Entertainment’ category is hilarious!

    • dude..who waz in ‘ha bhaarat maza’ ?? btw thanxx alot for shaala. watched it and also deool. i found both of them equally brilliant.

  8. M happy, for winning vidya balan is best actress in ‘the dirty picture’.she is well played in role.

  9. I do not understand the logic, Deol is Best Indian Film, but when it comes to marathi, Stanley ka Dabba was any day better than Chillar Party.Dhobi Ghat did not even made the cut,Kriti Malhotra in that was much much better than Vidya in the Dirty Picture.Aaranya Kandam to seems have lost because of it’s content.

  10. no one has noticed the number of awards ‘game’ has picked up 🙂
first znmd and then game ! looks like farhan akhtar’s excel entertainment was one of the main sponsors of the event 🙂

  11. Congrats, director, producer and all the participants of manipuri film ‘PHIJIGI MANI’ and special congratulation to actress L. Tonthoingambi, i hope u’ll keep it up and lastly i realy realy love u

  12. being proud to be a manipuri…congrats to L.Tonthoi for her achievement, thnx to director producer and other co-worker of the film ”Phijigi mani”…hope more in future ..

  13. i have watched both ‘shala’ and ‘deool’ and both of them were equally brilliant films. so congratulations to girish kulkarni (who i think did a magnificent job) and teams of ‘shala’ and ‘deool’. as a maharashtrian, i am proud to see marathi cinema raised to such heights. i would especially like to thank rasik here for posting the trailer of ‘shala’ on facebook.
but m appalled by the fact that the best actress award was given to vidya ‘overrated’ balan. i truly feel sorry for all the other actresses (commercial and regional alike) who did a far better job than balan. Heck, even priyanka chopra gave a better performance in ‘saat khoon maaf’.
the other thing that has disturbed me is the child artiste award. i am shocked to see that the award waz given to the (highly irritating) kids of ‘chillar party’ over Harsh Mayar (I am kalam) who gave a scintillating performance.

    • If Priyanka gave a better performance in Saat Khoon Maaf, i think even Zayed Khan or Sachin Joshi gave better performances in Love, Break Ups… & Azaan respectively..

Though i am not saying Vidya B deserved it but Priyanka Chopra is better off not acting…..

      • the fact that you just said that implies that u have no knowledge about acting. so ignorant. talking like a child. i pity you.

      • i said priyanka would have been better than balan. i didn’t say that she should get it. there are many other deserving candidates. i have mentioned that as well. besides it doesn’t matter what your interpretations are. i don’t give a damn. my opinions are mine. those who agree with them are well and good. rest can go 2 hell. period.

      • As much as your opinion are yours…The same applies to everyone involved here and their statements too…And the those who don’t agree can rot in hell…

  14. very happy that 2 great tamil films ‘azhagar saamyin kuthirai’ and ‘aaranya kaandam’ didnt go empty handed. amazed to know the existence of a language called byaari and the fact that i can even understand a decent percentage of it(my country never ceases to amaze me).
