Aparajita Tumi- Sneak Peek

Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury is one of the new generation Bengali filmmakers who has already made his presence felt with his films Anuranan & Antaheen. While one may or may not appreciate his films there’s no debate about the fact that both these films have reached out to their target audience effectively. Aniruddha is now back with his 3rd film, Aparajita Tumi and this is based on Sunil Gangopadhyay‘s work- Dui Nari Hate Torobari.Produced by Shoojit Sircar and Ronnie Lahiri, written by Shyamal Sengupta and with music by Shantanu Moitra the film certainly looks promising. The technical crew also includes Ranjan Palit ( DOP ) and Arghyakamal Mitra ( Editor ).

Aparajita Tumi has an interesting star cast comprising of Prosenjit Chatterjee, Padmapriya, Kamalinee Mukherjee, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Indraneil Sengupta etc. Shot in the U.S, the promo and the songs certainly have done their part for the film i.e  generating attention for the film before it’s release. Now the film is slated for release in January 2012.

Here is a look at the trailer of the film

And here’s a look at the ‘Bola Baron’ song from the film

  1. Well, Tony (ARC) may not be the greatest film-maker of current Bengali generation, but he surely has his unique way of presenting the films – modernized characters, meaningful dialogues, breath-taking visuals and some lilting melodious music with neoage lyrics.. Antaheen was such a favourite of mine that I used to watch it everyday at one point of time in my life.. I still remember all the dialogues… Initially, I felt Aparajita Tumi has also been shot by Abhik Mukherjee, esplecially because he had won a National Award for Antaheen… But Ranjan Palit seems to have done a great job.. Tony being an ad-man has a great visual sense himself.. Really hope, the film lives up to the promo.. Keen to see Indraneil in the new aged avatar, Chandan Roy Sanyal & Kamalinee (after Happy Days) in Bengali film.. Bumba da toh keeps surprising me with every new act of his and I am sure he is going to put a lot of depth and maturity in this one as well.. I am already humming ‘Bola Baron’ – Shantanu Moitra’s brilliance lies in the simplicity of his tunes and Anindya has a magical voice (painful yet smiling – reminds me so much of Rafi saab)..

  2. I must admit I really have become an admirer of Bumba da aka Prosenjit. Back in the days when I used to be in Jamshedpur & Kolkata we would always make fun of his potboilers made by Haranath Chakraborty and Swapan Saha. But in the last few years he has been doing an amazing balancing act with some really intelligent films as well. Today its wonderful to see Mithunda & Prosenjit beautifully striking a balance between potboilers & films like these. Talking bout Aparajita Tumi, its a film which I’m personally looking forward to. The visuals look refreshing & the star-cast is impressive.
