We all know how Man of Steel, was a make or break movie for Warner Brothers earlier this summer. The film when released received mixed reaction from audience and critics. This is one of the reasons that the next Superman movie will also feature Batman, which has increased anticipation among fans. The two disc DVD special edition of Man of Steel, is a delight, since studios nowadays prefer to keep all extra material in Blu-Ray and nothing on DVD.
Thanks to some of the work I get around doing, it spares a chance to see a lot of films that don’t see the sight of a theatrical release so easily. Praveen Morchhale‘s Barefoot to Goa is one of those little gems that I was lucky to catch a couple of days ago. Written and shot almost like a docu-drama, this feature film tells a heartbreaking tale without dwelling much on the dark and dull side of it. This, pretty much, is the flavor of the season with the resounding success of films like The Lunchbox. And no wonder that Barefoot To Goa made it to the competition segment in the Mumbai Film Festival 2013, and rightly so. Continue reading

Goliyon Ki Raasleela, Ram-Leela, based on the adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet was one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Ram Leela is the story of lovers Ram (Ranveer Singh) and Leela (Deepika Padukone) from two different warring Gujrati families- Rajadis and Sanedas.
