Tamil filmmaker A.R.Murugadoss is now popular all over India thanks to Ghajini (2008), a remake of his own Tamil film of the same name and his recent Tamil blockbuster Thuppakki which is being remade in Hindi as well. In the meanwhile in a very smart move he had also turned producer with a 3 film deal with Fox Star Studios. The 1st film Engaeyum Eppothum (2011) directed by M.Saravanan turned out to be a success and he followed it up with his 2nd production, Vatthikuchi which came out this year. Vatthikuchi also introduced a new director- Kinslin and also a new hero, Murugadoss’s brother Dhileban. The film evoked mixed response from critics and at the box office. A.R.Murugadoss is now ready with his 3rd production- Raja Rani, directed by another debutante, Atlee Kumar, a former associate of Shankar. The film had evoked a lot of curiosity when the teaser was unveiled a few months ago.
Raja Rani looks like a romantic comedy and the star cast includes well known names like Arya, Nayantara, Santhanam, Jai, Nazriya Nazim, Sathyaraj, Sathyan etc. The music is by G.V.Prakash Kumar while George C.Williams is the DOP and Anthony Reuben the editor. Raja Rani is expected to release in September and here’s the trailer which makes us look forward to the film.
